What Have I Learned in One Year at Spring Creek....

Last night at choir/bell rehearsal, I quietly celebrated the one year anniversary of first attending Spring Creek United Church of Christ. Don't really need a charm bracelet to commemorate this. For the past few weeks while I was trying to find a way to remember the 15 years of discovering my feminine side, I glanced at some of the calendars that I have on my wall on the month of April and remembered one year earlier about attending a service at Spring Creek, just for the hell of it. I was told about the church late in the summer of 2011 while at a meeting for the first Rockford Pride Fest. Received a pamphlet describing the church, located at Spring Creek & Spring Brook. I had previously passed the church many times before, taking the shortcut going to Woodman's and cruising west on Spring Creek when I had my wheels. The actual date I have since forgotten, but it was nice that they did arrange a way for me to get there.   To you long-timers of SCUCC, the previous past...

Time Machine

I know I haven't did a blog for a while, so forgive me on that. So this was supposed to be some kind of celebration commemorating 15 years since coming out as a transgendered person. Please. I'm not expecting any awards for this momentous occasion anytime soon. The only thing I did was re-post this YouTube video I did earlier this year to basically explain myself. If you have seen my channel there, the video is just below my picture, which was taken last year. The scrambled eggs with brown sugar video is proudly on the cover. One person actually like my eyes. I'm touched, even though I haven't had my teeth worked on in years. I did cheat a little bit, though-the musical background was my church choir rehearsing a song. They downloaded the song onto my email and just loaded it onto my computer. Here's hoping I don't get sued for that! It's up to 75 views as I type this, meaning there really isn't that many folks that either give a damn about me explainin...

The Balcony STILL Ain't Closed

Whenever that time comes when I get called home, will it be while I'm sleeping, driving, eating...making whoopee? No one ever talks about what it will be like to die. That's TOO scary for me!! I don't know. I mean, what can you take with you into the afterlife? Nevermind that crap about lost secrets that were taken to the grave. Just because Roger Ebert blogged that wasn't afraid of death will not mean I won't be scared stiff! What would happen if I did get reincarnated? Yeah, right. That was a synopsis in a Blake Edwards flick Switch. That's where a womanizer gets played by his girlfriends, gets shot and killed, then gets eventually reborn as Ellen Barkin.  Kind of a joint venture between God and the Devil himself.   But he had that consequence coming with all that philanthroping with those ladies. Having God re-create him as a woman was the last thing on his mind. Could i have that chance? Pretty sure He'd say no.  I'm not ready to go when He co...

This Balcony Ain't Closed

I had some time today between existing, working on my website and conversating with a possible customer I met on facebook about a round trip to Atlanta. I did all the design of the above poster myself (like it? Let me know in the spaces below!) While some folks in this country are ready for this weekend's NCAA Men's Final Four in Atlanta, I decided to go ahead and refresh my memory on why this month has sentimental reasons. This blogging can help me ease my mind off of today's headlines from CNN, ESPN and everybody else. I may have mentioned this before, however I may have been nuts to even speak the truth. I don't have a favorite in the college basketball tournament, so I'll just watch something decent on Investigation Discovery or Movieplex. How did I use my time from not having bell/choir rehearsal? Trying my best to eat this 13lb ham I got several weeks ago! This takes a lot of work to eat this!! I'm lucky I'm about half-way finished now!! It's a ...

April Promises

So here we are, folks. I am spending Saturday morning listening to Mystery Science Theater 3000 ( MST3K to its fans) and watching the British comedy-drama The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on HBO. It's also Easter Weekend 2013. March has all but concluded. NCAA Tournament in full swing. Another season of baseball is about to begin. Spring is finally starting to show some signs of frivolity. It's about time, too, seeing all this snow that's still showing its presence in March can drive anyone insane! You did hear about Punxatawney Phil getting a bad rap for his incorrect weather prediction? Some wanted his head on a platter. What do you think would happen? He's only been right a third of the time, anyway! He's got more fans than any Walmart or that Justin Beiber creature. Then, there's me. I still occasionally do get depressed sitting in this room in the back of the motel, where the wi-fi signal for Mariah to regularly visit YouTube is very suspect. I have men...

Flashback

I don't know. It has been a little while since I really took some time and just shot the breeze on this blog and talked about what's going on with me right now. Since I am watching this forgettable Alec Baldwin flick The Shadow on Movieplex, I guess there's no better time than the present to maybe think about what's going on in my world. Penelope Ann Miller? Damn, I thought Kim Basinger was in this. There is a scene where you know this Mongolian warlord is wearing a fake beard-when the hair glue doesn't stick to his face! It was a cheesy flim when i first saw it back in 1995. the film was a dud, so don't worry about seeing this get as much of a cult status like Showgirls with Elizabeth Berkley. Baldwin's also wearing a fake schnoz, too! Only so many comic book adaptations should be allowed to get consideration for the movies. Those suits from the 40's will always be classic attire for men; red was the only available lipstick shade for women, who main...

Monday Monday

Ok. I had nothing else to do today. Felt like going to the library and waste some time on their computer instead of dueling with Mariah on my laptop. I have 47 minutes to say what I want to say...and then go home and start blogging some more while watching James Bond  (by the way, happy belated 45th b-day to the reigning Bond, Daniel Craig! LOVED Skyfall, now on Blu-ray and DVD (selfish promotion)!) on G4. I know I am going to have to replace my year-old laptop, which replaced the one the Mariah threw out over Christmas 2011 when I told her not to use it. But she gets very bored with TV and has desparately tried to relive her youth by watching SO much YouTube. Should this endeavor I signed up for become a success, I'll have me a new laptop by month's end. Of course, having my own transportation as well as a new apartment will pay dividends. Can my church friends say "house-warming party"? 39 minutes left. Going to see what DVD's are appealing at the library. M...
