April Promises

So here we are, folks. I am spending Saturday morning listening to Mystery Science Theater 3000 ( MST3K to its fans) and watching the British comedy-drama The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on HBO. It's also Easter Weekend 2013. March has all but concluded. NCAA Tournament in full swing. Another season of baseball is about to begin. Spring is finally starting to show some signs of frivolity. It's about time, too, seeing all this snow that's still showing its presence in March can drive anyone insane! You did hear about Punxatawney Phil getting a bad rap for his incorrect weather prediction? Some wanted his head on a platter. What do you think would happen? He's only been right a third of the time, anyway! He's got more fans than any Walmart or that Justin Beiber creature. Then, there's me. I still occasionally do get depressed sitting in this room in the back of the motel, where the wi-fi signal for Mariah to regularly visit YouTube is very suspect. I have men

I don't know. It has been a little while since I really took some time and just shot the breeze on this blog and talked about what's going on with me right now. Since I am watching this forgettable Alec Baldwin flick The Shadow on Movieplex, I guess there's no better time than the present to maybe think about what's going on in my world. Penelope Ann Miller? Damn, I thought Kim Basinger was in this. There is a scene where you know this Mongolian warlord is wearing a fake beard-when the hair glue doesn't stick to his face! It was a cheesy flim when i first saw it back in 1995. the film was a dud, so don't worry about seeing this get as much of a cult status like Showgirls with Elizabeth Berkley. Baldwin's also wearing a fake schnoz, too! Only so many comic book adaptations should be allowed to get consideration for the movies. Those suits from the 40's will always be classic attire for men; red was the only available lipstick shade for women, who main

Ok. I had nothing else to do today. Felt like going to the library and waste some time on their computer instead of dueling with Mariah on my laptop. I have 47 minutes to say what I want to say...and then go home and start blogging some more while watching James Bond  (by the way, happy belated 45th b-day to the reigning Bond, Daniel Craig! LOVED Skyfall, now on Blu-ray and DVD (selfish promotion)!) on G4. I know I am going to have to replace my year-old laptop, which replaced the one the Mariah threw out over Christmas 2011 when I told her not to use it. But she gets very bored with TV and has desparately tried to relive her youth by watching SO much YouTube. Should this endeavor I signed up for become a success, I'll have me a new laptop by month's end. Of course, having my own transportation as well as a new apartment will pay dividends. Can my church friends say "house-warming party"? 39 minutes left. Going to see what DVD's are appealing at the library. M
