Ducks on the Pond

Just before I came down with a bad cold, I spend some time last Wednesday afternoon observing some new neighbors near the place where Mariah and I are currently staying. You were already going to think I am going to yak about some interesting people here, but no. Honestly, this is one of those things in life where you get to experience that phrase, “the best things in life are free”.  Since there wasn’t anything decent to watch on TV, I decided to pay them a brief, yet amazing visit.  C’mon, now. How often have you actually watched a flock of ducks, anyway?  There is a pond across the walkway that can easily be seen from my window. They have made the annual dreary winter season seem less bearable.  On an overcast Sunday after  being dropped off from church, I was taking out the trash to the dumpster and these three ducks just literally walked up to me as if they were a duck posse or something. GoodFeathers? The Duckfather, perhaps? Did I do something in error and left them with “th

Mariah is Sleeping

Sigh. I am using my new yellow-keyed, large-lettered keyboard (called "Easy Eyes") to update the website and spend some time posting something on my blog. I'm watching The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on TV right now. This Scottish brute is nuts! But I love watching this guys following Letterman, except when it's on repeats. Just the start of another week in mid-winter of 2013. Basketball is in full swing everywhere, and March Madness is fast approaching. I'm due to return to Mickey D's to get my annual fill of those perennially devine Shamrock Shakes. Since I haven't had a car in almost two years, I haven't been able to eat out as much than I normally would. Then again,  the longer I stay away from those things the better I wind up feeling in the long run. So, if I want to get a double cheeseburger I'll just get the pre-heated kind at the gas station across the street. They're about $3 each, and yes they do fill me up. Mariah does get h

A Pastoral Lunchtime Chat

Ok. Instead of blogging directly on my blog site (www.kayleahdee.blogspot.com), I’ll attempt to do this via Microsoft Word 2007 edition on my laptop and later copy this onto my site! Now, Today, I guess you could say I am recovering from some a case of introvertedness from yesterday’s installation of our new pastor at my church.  I personally felt a bit like a wreck!  It’s not that no one would talk to me (only two people did, only to compliment on how well the bell & sanctuary choirs were during the service), I just felt a bit lonely. On Valentine’s Day night, I will admit that I fought back some tears (TWICE!!) after seeing a whole lot of XOXO’s on facebook. I posted a comment on my church’s page that I had never had a close significant other in all my 42 years of living. Would I ever find a mate? Marriage? Kids? Well, I did receive some comments on that posting the next morning. One person wondered why I haven’t come up with an answer to the first question I was asked in one o
